Born in Singapore, Swish grew up with a keen interest in entrepreneurship. When Swish was 10, he started a hovercraft business and employed his own father as his Chief Project Engineer. Swish sold his first and only hovercraft for $200 which he donated to a local orphanage. Swish grew up with a speech impediment and though he was never bullied, he was not ignorant to the stigma faced by individuals who suffer from mental, verbal, and physical disabilities. This was a contributing factor in shaping Swish’s continued belief that the most successful businesses can be built on a foundation that provides a positive social impact to others.
Swish serves as an advisor and/or on the board of a collection of organizations including the Canadian Student Debating Federation, Literacy Empowerment Foundation, Children of Hope Uganda, and Beat the Street. Beyond his entrepreneurial ventures, he is also a contributor to the Huffington Post and the Global and Mail and the sole author of People, Planet, Profit: Era of Social Entrepreneurship. As a public speaker, Swish has spoken at EDGE 2016 TEDxUofT and is enlisted in the National Speakers Bureau database.
